Its about 10.12pm on a quiet Tuesday night and also closing time at The Book Cafe. As the the vacuum machine sucked away nosily, the cash register churning out endless sales report for the day and staff making last minute clean ups at the serving tables, I sit here blogging away with a smile on my face. I am contented…
I needed a place to just relax and be quiet today. Somewhere I could just be alone with no one to bother me while I continue reading Anthony Bourdain’s old book “Kitchen Confidential” and surf around the world wide web. A place I could have a nice dinner, a cup of Latte and friendly staff smiling along the way. That place as you already know is The Book Cafe.
Tucked somewhere near Martin Road, the cafe, as the name suggests, caters to a perhaps..mostly bookworms looking for a place to chill. Racks of magazines and books displayed cross the walls provide you with a great reading variety..whatever fancies you for that moment. Most of the time, I would pick up the Golf Digest…
The Book Cafe is a place I usually would go to with Lyn (my boo) and some of my very close friends. We would turn up, order a cuppa, pick up a few magazines and enjoy a quiet moment amongst friends. This time round, I needed to be alone. Although I had better pastas, ice lemon tea and latte at other places, somehow the food served tonight with such a setting was just right.
Yeah I am loving this place, a perfect place for jTime (a time where I can be alone).

Reading this really arouses much envy in me. You know, to me, The Book Cafe is a place which really sends my heart breaking. Well, not that I was ditched by my boyfriend there, but that was a place which i left devastated on my first visit. I left the book cafe crying, as i walked all the way from the cafe to Tiong Bahru MRT station.
Ha ha, just a little too free to be talking bout this. I guess no one would be bothered to read anyway. Nevertheless, just wanna “tell” the whoever in that cafe..it still hurts. But I’m quite sure u wouldn’t ever bother though. Never.
Ha ha.
KP: Howdy and thanks for visiting my site. Woah..sorry to hear about you loss there…such incidents are painful and let’s say I do feel you there. BTW, that is some walk man…coz Tiong Bahru MRT station is pretty far.
Hope all is getting better for you now tho..
