Perhaps another one of those ‘why didn’t I think of that’ projects nicely created by the wonderful people who have actually and finally thought of it…The Gamerator. Easily understood as an arcade cabinet/kegerator Hybrid, The Gamerator partners the two basic needs of most men I know – Gaming and Beer (okay, so I need a life). But of course I am just generalising here, although I am sure a number of guys there who would beg to differ.

Images shamelessly taken from eBay
Instead of explaining what The Gamerator is, I figured its much better if I do the ‘ol copy and paste from its eBay site. Yeah you read right, the bugger is actually for sale, well..not exactly…bidding was closed about four days back.
THE GAMERATOR: Arcade Cabinet / Kegerator Hybrid! – Taken from eBay
“Pre-loaded with 187 licensed classic arcade games … the Gamerator has everything from Tecmo Bowl to Pac Man, Street Fighter to Galaga, and 180 more games in between. NOTE: Buyer will receive the original licensed copies of all games listed. These are not emulators or knock-offs, they are the original games.
Other Gamerator features include …
- refrigerated interior capable of holding a pony keg of domestic beer
- A 24 inch flat screen television
- Two conveniently-placed cup holders to house your beverage while playing
In addition, the Gamerator can be fully customized to your particular needs. Virtually any video game system on the market (past or present) can be hooked up to the Gamerator … XBox 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, NES, Genesis, etc. NOTE: Most gaming systems require an adaptor (not included) to use the dual joystick system, though all can be played with original system controllers. As is, the Gamerator runs using an XBox (adaptor included).
PCs can also be connected to the Gamerator (adaptor included) … allowing you to play games directly from your PC, surf the web, and more. NOTE: Trackball system can be connected by buyer to a PC, but is not currently connected as is.
A small amount of simple assembly (5 minutes and one 9/16″ socket wrench) is required on this item (assembly instructions included)
Gamerator Specs: 75″tall X 38″wide X 38″deep Approximate Weight: 400 lbs”
Sure it might be the world’s best thought of entertainment system…well…kinda, but at a final bid of US$3,100, think I’m gonna pass and cough up my own gaming machine…
