After years of avoiding the green, Tian managed to convince me that unless I start playing golf on a real turf, I can’t really improve. Sure, that may be something I have known all along but I have always maintained my stubborness for a long long time…till today.
We headed to Ria Bintan, about an hour ferry ride from Singapore for a round of golf. The day was prefect…very sunny and quite windy. Once we started our 18-hole journey from the 10th hole, I thought I was able to conquer the challenging course with much success (yeah..boastful me). C
oming from a person who has not been to a green for years, I guess I was doing well. I was able to get my ball straight and pretty centre and was smiling from ear to ear from the 10th to the 18th.
It was when we started teeing off from 1st to the 9th hole after lunch when everything went downhill. My ball went everywhere but far and straight. It was really really really frustrating. But thanks to the encouragement of Tian and his two friends, I was able to survive the rest of the 9 holes without a great deal of cussing and hey…we played four more holes. However, I have to admit that the day ended well despite losing about 13 golf balls and my temper. I got a nice red tan around my arms, except my left hand (guess why) and nice lighter toned sunglass shaped spot around my eyes…damn Oakleys. Leaving back for Singapore, I played the role of a camera slut behind the camera and shared pictures that I took of the guys during the day with promises that we will return…but seriously…not any time soon
Damn my neck hurts!!
