As a partial pet owner, I have always made sure that both our Malteses, Milky and Omu never bothered anyone while taking them out for a walk. The proper ettiquette includes leashing our dogs, bringing a doo-doo bag and even allowing kids, elderly and those afraid of dogs to either walk ahead of us or pass us as we step aside before continuing our journey. Heck, these are the habits dog owners should abide to and more. So I guess you would understand how pissed I was when I found out that my niece was bitten by a dog and the help (maid) taking care of it didn’t care to apologies.
Last Sunday, my sister took her little daughters Anne and Beth for a nice walk around my estate. The routine was simple, just let the kids run around the open space while my sister keeps an eagle eye on them. There, a help was standing chatting with another help while holding on to the leash as the dog just sat there. As my Anne approached it with caution to take a look at the dog, the dog just ran up and bit her leg.
Anne stood there shocked as my sister who was already approaching her to caution her about approaching the dog ran towards her. The maid just unknowingly turned around and shouted “OOOOI” before leaving with a huff. A few seconds later, blood dripped and my niece cried. My sister hurried her home and tended to her leg. Although it was rather a minor bite, it left a nasty bite marks on her and adding to the wound, a sudden fear for dogs (at least for the day).

Poor Anne…
So dear dog owner, if I ever find out who your pet is, rest assured your dog will remember my niece’s misery. To the other dog owners out there, please watch your dog, there are enough reports out there about errant pet owners paying no mind to the people around them. Leashing them is not enough, watch them!!

ouch.. hope ur niece is fine.. makes me sad to know that there are such irresponsible pet owners out there!!
Daphne: Yeah, she’s good but I seriously doubt she like dogs now..arrghh!! Thanks for asking tho..
Well your niece has to learn 3 things
- Most dogs in this island just suck in behaviour,
- Dog with help is usually a sign that the owner-dog bond is already gone, so doubly forget about it having a good temperament.
- Stretching out a hand to pat an unknown dog can be seen by it as a form of attack.
Oh and if there is one more…..Keep off that darn grass!
Dude..catch the bitch and sue the owners’ pants off!!!
Use your powderful england and write an article into the ST newspapers’ forum
come tonight we go bitch hunting around the estate..
The bloody owners can’t even walk their own freakin’ dog! They shouldn’t even be allowed to have dogs!!!
Sorry about your niece, hope her fear of dogs is just temporary..cos that would be pretty darn sad!
KP: yeah man..one screwed up dog. But the thing was that my niece wasn’t even stretching out her hand..she just got close just to look at it and the dog charged towards her.
Len: Aye..that is not it. A family staying across mine keeps their dog outside and it keeps barking and barking none stop…even at nights…have been enduring for months now. If that stoopid dog keeps barking again, I swear I just might kill it…or call the authorities on them.
Many screwed up dogs in our area eh?
Dear Sister: You got that right man..freaking owners really need to be educated or let them have it good good..aye.
My niece should be fine tho..thanks…
