Lighting up the river

Popped over to Clarke Quay on Friday night to assist my colleagues with some media relations for the launch party of the Singapore River Festival. Free booze and food aside, we observed some river bank light-ups followed by local performances from Najib Ali and Jive Talking.

What facinates me about the light up apart from the myriad of colours brandishing across the steps, is witnessing this project coming to past. It was a few months ago when I was researching on some visions and plans before heading for an interview with my current organisation. Back then, I came across some newspaper articles on the light-up promising to add colour and life to our rivers. Now, a few months later, after much blood, sweat and tears from my fellow colleagues, all I can say is I am really proud of the works they accomplished. Way to go folks!!

  • I agree a job well done. The river lightings have indeed added colours and brought life to the dull river.

They have turned that river into a bright and lively area.

The food and drinks by the banks tasted better too.

  • Louis: Hi man..and thanks for visiting my site. The lights did add life to the river banks didn’t it. Looking forward to a nice and perhaps romantic dinner by the river one day..I bet the food will taste good too :)
