Damn the stringent rules

Just got word from my colleague that ‘zhnging’ some parts of your car would also risk voiding your insurance. This is making things really tough for me considering that the ah beng’ness in me is about to be unleashed after getting my car.

So You can ‘zhng’ Tokyo Drift style in Tokyo, Osaka and some say Yokohama…but in Singapore, you better go ask your warrenty, LTA and insurance first…then they will see how.

I have to thank the ones below from preventing my Korean-American car from morphing into some mean incredible hulk-like machine:

  • LTA (Neon lights under cars are nice, just because your wife says you can’t freaking do it to your car does not mean that you need to make it a rule that we can’t do it to ours…bastards!!)
  • Alpine Motor’s Warrenty (What do you mean I can’t do open pod? I would really like to change that ‘kitten meow’ engine that you installed to a nice and low VRRRROOOOOM.)
  • Insurance (Its just a freaking airbag, tell me how many times you have used it? Thats right…we almost never use it..so off with it!!)

I was seriously considering saving up for a nice Momo Millenium Evo steering wheel with perhaps a nice BOSS kit to add to my list of wants (not needs) in ‘zhnging’ my car, only to find out that the the insurance would be voided because I would have to remove my airbag. Now tell me how bulky would this steering wheel be with airbags?

That’s right!! It will be BIG!! I would probably look like I am steering with a tyre and not a nice sleek steering wheel. Now thanks to my lovely AXA insurance, I can’t get a nice effect like the example below:

So I guess I am stuck at looking at this picture and not owning one. Thanks alot AXA, remember to look me up the next time you need me to do some refinancing.

Now if you would excuse me, I would have to see what else I can (or can’t) do to my car.

Got rims?

Popped down to Ang Mo Kio this afternoon with Justin for some rim and tyre change for my Chevy.  Our initial intention was to get a nice and good looking set from Poh Heng.  However, while waiting to be served, we decided to just cross the road to Soh Brothers only to find out that his variety of rims and tyres were just about the same but $30 cheaper.  So I guess the decision is pretty clear.

Although Poh Heng came in highly recommended by friends, business seemed to be too good and one would have to wait for quite a while before getting to speak to a staff just on rims, let alone fixing them up.  Yes I must admit that I do feel quite guilty getting the rims and tyres at Soh Brothers instead of Poh Heng since all my friends get their rims and tyres at there and that the people at Poh Heng are really really nice, but I felt I got a better deal at Soh Brothers.

Since there wasn’t much business at Soh Brothers, I was the first in the line and the next thing I knew, I was driving off with a nice set of rims and much better tyres.  And yeah, the service at Soh Brothers was really good too.  No complains :)

A Boy’s dream

Alrightee, I have decided to put up this entry because:

  • I am a Corvette type of person (whatever that is…)
  • This commercial is banned in the America because it shows a boy driving and doing some wicked stunts.  Something along the line that it will give the wrong impression that boys will steal cars and do stunts or something…WHATEVER!!
  • Music is by the Rolling Stones
  • I drive a Chevy…not a Corvette but can lah…:p

Oh errr..this entry goes to Fel…my Corvette twin sista!! Love to you babe!!

Was helping out Justin in a video shoot today at Traders Hotel today, playing the role of a chef. Yeah, it was fun as usual and to top it off, I get to wear a chef’s uniform, which by the way is a real bitch to put on. It was no surprise that I pulled out my phone camera and started snapping away considering that I can be quite a camera slut. Anyhoo, here are some shots I took.

I’m a Chevrolet Corvette!

Took a test to see what kind of car I am after visitng Rach’s blog, who btw is a Porsche (oooh baby!!). Anyhoo, I guess I am destined to drive a Chevy eh? keke…

You’re a classic – powerful, athletic, and competitive. You’re all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

Damn you birds!!

Was showing off my new ride to Mdm Wong yesterday night when I saw my first bird poo.  That S.O.B bird and its relatives better fly far far away before I hunt it down and kill all its kind.  Had a hard time wiping all that shit off…uugggh!!

Ladies and gentlemen…introducing my Chevy!!

Yeah…another milestone in my life…I am finally a proud owner of a car.

After my golf game yesterday, Bernard took me to the Chevy Service Centre in Sin Ming (uh huh..just right behind my home) to pick up my new baby. It must be the red license plate that caught my eye as he drove in since I saw it from afar..woah..what a beauty.

I am totally not kidding when I say I have entered into a realm that was so foreign, but so nice, so beautiful…something that just can’t be explained. And to think it is just a Chevy Aveo and not some Ferarri 360 ‘freaking’ Spider!!

Anyhoo, it wasn’t long before I saw myself driving out the service centre after signing my final papers with a smile on my face…ten miles wide. Oooooh…it was sweet. Now time to zhng it!!

What a game!!

I remembered it was years back during a speech from my ex-Minister when he said that the reason why a very good golf game pisses him off, was because he knew he can never play as well for a long time.

I think I might be hitting that slump pretty soon considering that I have never played like how I did yesterday. Some interesting golf milestones for me include:

  • It was the first time I have ever played under intense rain
  • I was playing with one golf ball that refuses to get lost. No matter how bad my shots were, I can always find that darn ball. That became my lucky ball by the way.
  • It was the first time I have ever played golf with just one ball…I always lose at least one. (Okay..this is kinda related to point no.2)
  • I have finally made a par at a par-5 hole.
  • I managed to conquer hazards without much fear.

Yeah it was a good game. Tune in to more bitching as I head off to a golf slump. But give me some time. I will be back.

Yeah I was drenched…but it was fun
