Top this Durai!!

So yeah, we’ve heard and forgotten about the oh so famous gold-plated tap, that pricey German toilet bowl and a glass panel shower that T.T. Durai installed in his office toilet back in the good ‘ol days when he was the CEO of NKF. But hey, how can you blame a top gunning CEO generating tonnes of money for his company through setting up a call centre bugging each and every single one of us for donations on a daily basis. And if that ain’t enough, how about through other methods like organising ’stupid human tricks’ events on TV calling for even more donations. I mean their reserves as of July 2005 stood at S$262 million. They do have a lot of money, let that guy have his toilet for crying out loud!! Oh wait…he is working for a charity organisation isn’t he? :P

Anyways, back to the subject on jambans and bowls, I picked this article up from a few sources on a Swarovski crystal studded ‘jamban bowl’ at a whopping $75,000. Designed by Jemal Wright, the Isis can give your currently boring toilet that “blinged out” effect and that extra push when you need it (while doing no. 2 of course ;) ). And if that doesn’t give you the celebrity status you think you deserve, how about a matching sink to boot?

But if you think that crystals are for peasants and want that emperor status, what about a nice gold-plated ‘jamban’ showcased recently at the Extravaganza luxury exhibition held in Moscow. The gold toilet is equipped with all the bells and whistles every ultimate toilet lover would desire for, with advanced plasma mirror and digital control devices. But this would set you back at about €250,000.

Personally, I don’t think I would ever afford such luxury, and even if I could, I would rather get myself a nice set of wheels or golf clubs. As for our beloved Durai, I think his current pay in his current new job in Dubai will continue to allow him more of such luxuries. Yeah I guess he can think about installing one of these babies, provided if he is still into “jambans” ;) .

Charge your gadgets with solar bag

Fashion and environmentally friendly, what else can you ask for? ;) Introducing, the Noon Solar – “a transformative way to introduce renewable energy into your daily life”. Basically, its a nice little bag with a solar panel that allows you to charge your iPod or mobile phone. Yeah..its that simple.

So I guess owners need to develop some other excuses instead of “oh my phone’s battery went flat” or “opps, I forgot to charge”, if you want to avoid picking your friend’s call eh? Not very affordable for me though, at US$274 to US$412, think I rather pick up a nice Coach or Kenneth Cole messenger bag…and charge my phone ;)

One of the many reasons why I am getting fatter…

…coz Lyn (my boo) can really cook!! Our homemade lunch today includes a pan of seafood pasta with olive oil. Not surprisingly, the both of us managed to devour the entire pan in about half an hour. Oh..did I mention we also had a side of mash potatoes? Yeah I know…we are both pigs… :P

All 103 inches

Was chilling around Suntec City after a great lunch with Walter Benjamin at Olio yesterday and was almost immediately captivated by this. A 103″ Full-HD Plasma TV. Hook this up to either an XBox 360, a Nintendo Wii or a Sony PS3 and prepare yourself for some real life gaming. Woah!! :)

So you think your life really suck eh?

Yeah, its one of those ‘wake up your idea and see how fortunate you are right now’ moments. I was at home yesterday sulking away and complaining to Lyn (my boo) about how it really suck to work at my current job, although the really really busy period is over. I guess I didn’t care that it is now a ‘less very busy’ time of the year and that I could afford to slack a little, perhaps because I have reached into another level of jadedness. To me, work suck, life suck, pay suck and perhaps everything that I am going through just totally suck…except Lyn of course (ahem ahem).

While bitching away to Lyn, I was suddenly distracted and immediately drew my attention towards the TV. The Star World’s news update was on during that time, reporting on the recent Bangladesh cyclone. To tell you the truth, I haven’t really followed the recent cyclone incident and its aftermath. To cut the long story short, the death toll is around 3,500, families and friends were lost, about 4 million people are left homeless, there is a massive lack of drinking water and food, etc. So I guess you see where I am getting at. My problem is absolutely nothing compared to the ones that the victims in Bangladesh are facing now.

So before any of us think that the crap we are going through requires God’s immediate attention…think again yeah? We don’t really need to look far to see how fortunate we are, just pop over to Chinatown, Little India or other places where beggars are stationed. Anyhoo, take a look at some aftermath photos of the Bangladesh cyclone I tooked from the ‘ol Google. Yeah, our problems can wait.

Dad + flying my areoplane = no golf today

You have no idea how pissed I am today. And to think I have already applied for a day’s leave! Glad my boss is flexible enough to allow me to return in the afternoon and leave me to sulk at home in the morning.

Still…still..much love to dad. I mean he was the one who introduced me to golf… :)

Pay any amount for Radiohead’s new album

Yeah, pretty eye catching title for a blog article eh? But seriously, I am not kidding. But before I carry on, much mention to Vantan for bringing this up in one of her blog entries. As the title suggests, Radiohead has created a new album titled ‘In Rainbows’ and have uploaded the songs in MP3 format to the album’s website for all to download…at any price.

I figured I shouldn’t go further since Vantan already has a blog entry on it. You can read more about it there. Similar to her, I pumped in ₤5 for the album and have already transferred them to my iPod. Guess I got a new album to listen to on my way home eh? ;)

Photo shamelessly taken from Vantan’s flickr album. Don’t mind hor Miss Tan :P

A note to a parking champion

Lyn (my boo) and I popped over to the Peoples Park Complex at Chinatown for a foot reflexology session yesterday. As usual on a Sunday afternoon, parking can be quite a bitch taking into consideration that many fellow heartlanders like us flock there by the hundreds to take advantage of the economical products on sale there.

While searching endlessly for a parking lot, I passed by a black Lexus selfishly taking up two lots. Cursing internally, I drew two conclusions on why the bugger of a driver inconsiderately occupied two lots instead of one…especially on busy Sunday afternoon:

  • Car too big, one lot too small
  • Driver is seriously in need of a parking refresher

lexusGondu
Yeah, I was nice to pixel out the car plate number

After finding a lot not too far from the Lexus, I thought to myself that I should do everyone a favour and write a strong non-vulgar message expressing our disappointment. But seems that someone has already beaten me to it:

lexusGondu2

Although I must admit that I have never driven a big SUV before, I am sure there are many ways one can arrange his/her vehicle in a small lot and at the same time, able to prevent inconvenience to other drivers looking for lots. Anyhoo, what’s done is done and I sure hope the driver, whoever he or she is, will understand the pain we go through.

[Eh..sorry for any potential bad grammar and sentence structure. Good morning Monday!!]
